‘Collective Action, Creativity and You’

Workshop 3

Times are tough. Pressures to meet our basic needs are mounting, and the challenging status quo can feel impossible. So how do we find the joy in resistance? How do we protect our creativity? How do we ensure we are actually taking steps towards a better future?

Join Elinor Lower from Rising Arts Agency to explore how we can leverage our individual and collective strengths to dismantle systems of oppression and create environments where we, and our creativity, can all thrive.

Elinor Lower is a Bristol-based writer and theatremaker and a member of the Rising Arts Agency community. Their work wrestles with / celebrates form, rebellion, noise, collaboration, care, mess, ritual, love and joy.

Rising Arts Agency is a youth-led social enterprise based in Bristol. They support underrepresented young people (aged 18-30) to fulfil their creative ambitions and mobilise to affect radical social change through the arts.

Hannah is in the centre of the image - Hannah is sitting in her manual wheelchair with bright pink wheels. She is a white female, has brown hair tied half up, and is wearing a black T shirt with an orange and red Far Flung logo. She is teaching a workshop in a festival marquee, and is stretching up to the ceiling with a huge smile on her face. In the background children and adults are dancing and in the foreground are colourful yellow, pink and purple ribbons sweeping across the front of the image.
